Please. Forget the OEM steel on steel steering stops that either brake your frame, bend your triple clamps, crush and bend your bars against your tank, destroy your electronic controls - or do ALL FOUR OF THESE THINGS TOGETHER!!!
OEM Steering stops BREAK! Superstops DO NOT BREAK!
Adjustable rubber frame-mount Superstops help soften the blow, and reaction from it, during a tank-slapper and or during a crash. You can use Superstops in addition to your triple clamp steering stops, or by themselves. These Rubber Steering Stops add protection in case of a crash, and during tank slappers. I have personally tested these several times now and each time I crashed with Superstops installed, I was able to pick the bike up and ride away. All four times. And two of those four times I raced less than an hour later without having to replace my bars, my tank, my brake or clutch levers, or my electronic bar controls (which are expensive to replace). Typically in crashes on my SDR racebikes before using Superstops, every crash destroyed my bike so bad it took hours and lots of spare parts replacements until I could race again. Now it takes nothing.
Using Superstops in addition to your adjustable stops, adds another layer of protection and support that keeps your triple clamp, forks, and bars from turning all the way into your tank in the case of a crash, or even a wild tank slapper that breaks the OEM steering stops or damper mount. This can happen, I've seen it. And once these break, your tank slappers can become un-recoverable.
By using Superstops, even in the case of a broken steering stop, damper or mount - your triple clamps, forks, and bars will not rotate beyond the point that you set them to.
Superstops are adjustable in 5mm increments. They work with OEM offset, and all of the Superclamp offsets. In fact now Superstops are included with every Superclamp order - because they are hands down the best way to adjust and maintain how far your bars turn.
