Description

The Ultimate Geometry Fix for the Gen-3 Super Duke If you’ve upgraded to a high-end race shock but are still using the OEM linkage, you're leaving performance on the table. The factory link is a compromise designed for everyone. The Superlink is a tool designed for riders who demand precision.

  • Tip in faster and feel lighter: This link makes the bike tip in faster by reducing trail, allowing you to maximize your rear ride height (+25-30mm) for effortless transitions.

  • Predictable drive out of corners: Eliminate mid-corner "wallow" with a 3.5% linear rate. By smoothing out the factory’s aggressive progression, the rear tire stays planted and predictable under heavy throttle.

  • Total adjustment range: Achieve the perfect swingarm angle (11-13 degrees) without compromise. The Superlink’s geometry is designed to clear the control arm, allowing you to utilize the full adjustment range of your WP Apex Pro, MUPO, or other race shocks without metal-on-metal contact.

  • Engineered for Race Shocks: Note: The Superlink is designed for use with adjustable-length shocks.  It is also compatible with the OEM shock; in that case, it raises ride height by 17.5mm.  The 3.5% linear rate still applies.

Specifications

Comes complete with control arm, two race links shown in the pic, OEM bearings, shims, and dust seals installed.    Re-use the inner shafts and end caps which are easily swapped.   Titanium bolts are not included.

  • Increase or decrease swingarm angle from -11 degrees to -13 degrees
  • Increase free hang anti-squat from 108% to 112.7%
  • Increase or decrease trail from 106mm to 99mm

In addition to opening up all of these possibilities, this Race Link Kit also reduces the progressive nature of the stock OEM link - from 11.8% to just 3.5%.   This will give you a more consistent and predictable feel throughout the full range of your rear suspension.

Install & Video

*Setup TIPS:  Unless you weigh 130lbs your SDR will work better with a stiffer rear spring.  Your Gen-3 1290 Super Duke R came with an 85nm spring.   To put things into perspective, our race prepped SDR has a 105nm spring.  That's a LOT stiffer.   As far as rear ride height, we run our bike 25 to 30mm higher than stock.

*Due to this link's specialized design being less progressive than stock, which is excellent for track and sporting use, we recommend that you add preload to your rear spring before you ride two-up.

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is a "linear" rate, and why do I want it?
The stock linkage is "progressive," meaning it gets significantly stiffer as it moves through the stroke. This is a compromise for carrying passengers or luggage. The Superlink's 3.5% linear rate provides a consistent feel from the moment you tip in until you’re hard on the gas, giving you much better "mechanical' feel for how much grip the rear tire has left.

Can I use this with my stock KTM shock?
No. The Superlink is designed specifically for adjustable-length race shocks (like the WP Apex Pro, MUPO, or Ohlins). Because this link is designed to maximize performance, it requires a shock that allows you to fine-tune the eye-to-eye length. If you are using the factory shock, the Sport Link is the correct choice for your bike.

Will this link lower my bike?
The Superlink is a performance geometry tool, not a lowering link. While it can be used to adjusted height, its primary purpose is to allow for an increased rear ride height (we recommend +25-30mm over stock) to sharpen steering and improve drive without the shock hitting the control arm.

Do I need to change my spring rate?
Since the Superlink is more linear (softer at the end of the stroke compared to stock), some riders—especially those at a fast track pace—may find they need to go up one spring rate (e.g., from a 95N to a 100N) to maintain the same support.

Does it come with bearings and seals?
Yes. Every Superlink arrives fully assembled with OEM KTM needle bearings and seals installed. It is a direct bolt-on replacement for the factory knuckle; you simply reuse your pivot bolts.

How does this help with different gearing?
When you change sprockets, you move the eccentric hub, which inadvertently changes your ride height and swingarm angle. The Superlink provides the clearance needed to adjust your shock length and "reclaim" your ideal geometry, regardless of what gearing you run.
