Description

Built for the "Short Kings." Engineered for Performance. KTM builds the Super Duke with a tall, aggressive stance that doesn't always account for the average rider. If you’re tired of tiptoeing at stoplights or feeling top-heavy in the paddock, the Supershort -20 is the solution. I designed this part specifically for the riders who love the Beast but want the confidence of having both feet firmly on the deck.

The "Right" Way to Lower a Duke Most lowering kits are "garage science" links that ruin your swingarm angle and anti-squat characteristics. I don't touch the link triangle. Instead, I’ve engineered a precision-offset control arm that drops the rear 20mm (almost an inch) while keeping the suspension geometry exactly where the factory intended. You get the lower height you need without the "wallowy" feel of cheap alternatives.

Track-Tested Validation This isn't just a cosmetic upgrade. We put the Supershort through the wringer at Laguna Seca under full track conditions. Even at pace, the suspension worked perfectly: no bottoming out and zero belly pan contact. It delivers the benefit of a lower center of gravity while maintaining the bike's aggressive, race-bred edge.

Key Benefits:

  • Total Confidence: Get both feet on the deck for better leverage and control when stopped.
  • No Compromise: Retains all OEM rear suspension characteristics—no weird geometry shifts.
  • Sharper Handling: Lowering the bike, combined with a 10mm fork drop, puts more weight on the front for a "planted" feel in corners.
  • Precision Built: CNC-machined solid metal with a custom offset to ensure zero shock contact at full extension.

Gogo’s Pro Tip: To keep the chassis balanced, I recommend lowering your forks 10mm in the triple clamps when you install the Supershort. This setup transforms the bike, making it feel lighter and more eager to tip into corners.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this change how the bike handles?
Yes—for the better. While most lowering kits make a bike feel "lazy" or soft, the Supershort is designed to keep the rear suspension linkage in its intended operating range. When you follow my recommendation to drop the forks 10mm, the bike actually tips into corners easier and feels more "planted" due to the slightly lower center of gravity.

Will the bike bottom out or scrape the belly pan?
No. We’ve tested this setup at Laguna Seca with riders of various weights. Under hard track riding, the bike maintained full clearance. The Supershort is engineered with a specific offset to ensure the control arm never contacts the shock, even at full extension.

Is this just a shorter version of the stock part?
It’s a bit more complex than that. If you simply shortened the arm, it would hit the shock body. I’ve engineered a custom offset into the solid metal part to provide the necessary clearance while achieving the 20mm drop. It’s a precision solution, not a "hacksaw" fix.

Do I need to change my kickstand?
In most cases, no. Because the -20mm drop is subtle and balanced by the front fork adjustment, the stock kickstand usually remains functional. However, always check your lean angle on level ground after installation to ensure the bike is stable.

Can I install this myself?
If you have a way to support the bike (like the Superjack), it’s a straightforward bolt-on process. No permanent modifications to your frame or swingarm are required.
