Understanding Trail: How Offset Adjustments Change Your Superduke
Compartir
When tuning the front end of your Superduke, understanding the relationship between triple clamp offset and trail is the key to unlocking the bike's potential. We use numbered inserts on our Superclamps to make these adjustments precise and repeatable.
What the Numbers Mean
The numbers on each insert represent how far off they are from the OEM offset. A +4 insert is exactly 4mm different from the factory setup. We place a "+" in front of the number because as you add offset, you are increasing the performance and agility of the front end.
Conversely, that is why the opposite side of a +3 insert is a -1. Negative numbers represent decreasing performance — you are adding trail back into the setup, making the bike feel more stable but slower to turn in.
How It Translates to the Road
As a general rule of thumb for these bikes, 1mm of offset equals about 1.2mm of trail change. By swapping inserts, you are directly manipulating that trail number, which dictates how quickly the bike tips into a corner and how stable it feels once it is there.
It's a small change with a big impact — and because the inserts are swappable, you can dial it in for the street, the track, or anywhere in between. Need more variety? Check out our Offset Insert Expansion Packs to cover the full range of adjustments.
